We meet in order to learn and grow. This works best in a positive atmosphere where people can trust one another and thus open up about things they do not understand / know without being afraid for being ridiculed or looked down upon.
We therefore want to:
- Respect each other.
- Assume that people mean well.
- Respect other opinions.
- Respect the work of others.
- Accept that there's not always an objective truth / objectively best solution.
- Maintain professional conversations. A technical difference is never resolved by shouting, swearing, or insulting.
We do not tolerate personal attacks, racism, sexism or any other form of discrimination. Disagreement is inevitable, from time to time, but respect for the views of others will go a long way to winning respect for your own view. Respecting other people, their work, their contributions and assuming well-meaning motivation will make community members feel comfortable and safe and will result in motivation and productivity.
