**Revolution frequency**
- Can either be locked to frequency of signal connected to RF port (uses a phase-locked-loop, PLL, not available for all flowgraphs)
or a custom value can be entered by the user
**Output**
- Signal bursts are started upon pos. trigger flank for the specified duration (see also [delay](commissioning/delay)). A duration of zero means "gated mode", i.e. the burst duration is defined by the trigger pulse duration. You can also manually trigger the device using the toggle button
- Output of the DAC is limited to ±1 V. Overload ratio shows the ratio (in time) during which the limit is exceeded (i.e. the signal is clipped and thus unwanted frequency components introduced). The levels should be adjusted such that the ratio stays below 1%.
- Can either be locked (with a PLL) to RF reference signal (connected to RF input 1)
or set by the operator to a fixed value
**Excitation signal**
- Excitation band width is set in kHz and also shown in tune units (it will become narrower during ramp to account for increased rigidity)
- The tune is set with respect to the revolution frequency, higher order sidebands are supported by putting in values > 1 (but best results have been found for baseband, e.g. q < 0.5)
- Some flowgraphs support different signal types, see [spectrum](commissioning/spectrum)
- Most flowgraphs support two excitation signals (1 and 2), the level of which can be individually adjusted for either plane (X and Y). Most commonly you will use Signal 1 on X and 2 on Y.
- Some flowgraphs support a linear ramp for the tune
- Excitation band width is set in kHz and also shown in tune units
This ensures it will become narrower during ramp to account for increased rigidity
- The fractional tune is set with respect to the revolution frequency
Higher order sidebands are supported by values > 1, but best results have been found for baseband, e.g. q < 0.5
- The signal levels can be set individually, usually Y requires less power
**Output**
- Signal bursts are started upon pos. trigger flank for the specified duration
A duration of zero means "gated mode", i.e. the burst duration is defined by the trigger pulse duration.
You can also manually trigger the device using the toggle button (e.g. for testing)
- The output signal (either X or Y, select via menu) can be monitored
The DAC is limited to ±1 V and signals are clipped if the level is too large, which results in broadband signals and will saturate the amplifiers.
Make sure the output for both X and Y is not overloaded (overload ratio shows the percentage in time during which the DAC is overloaded and should stay below 1%).

**Performance**

- If you see lots of letters `U` printed on the console, this indicates a performance issue. In this case please contact us |
